How long do I need to work in the Netherlands in order to get a mortgage to buy a house in the Netherlands?

There is no specific amount of time you need to work in the Netherlands to get a mortgage. We work with over 40 partnering mortgage providers. Most of those mortgage providers have some requirements about your working history in the Netherlands being an expat, but some of them don’t. This means that we can already arrange a mortgage from the first day from your arrival.

Do I need to be an EU Citizen to get a mortgage for expats in the Netherlands?

No, absolutely not. As long as you have a BSN-number (citizen service number) and a valid residence permit it’s possible to apply for a mortgage at a wide range of mortgage providers.
